OG Anunoby tipped in a missed Jalen Brunson three-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining to complete the largest comeback in NBA Finals history. Final score: Knicks 107, Spurs 106. The previous record for a Finals comeback was 24 points, set by the Boston Celtics over the Los Angeles Lakers in 2008. New York erased 29.

How It Happened
The Spurs led by 27 at halftime. Victor Wembanyama had 13 points in the first half alongside 8 rebounds. San Antonio’s offence moved well, their defence contained Brunson in the first two quarters, and a 29-point lead at any point in an NBA Finals game should be insurmountable.
The second half was different. Wembanyama shot 3 for 14 from the field after the interval. He finished on 9 for 25 for the game, the worst shooting performance of his Finals run. Jalen Brunson scored 17 of his 36 points in the second half, 8 in the third quarter and 9 in the fourth. His 9 for 11 from the free throw line kept the Knicks in range whenever the Spurs looked to pull clear again.
Anunoby scored 33 points and provided the moment the game will be remembered for. Brunson launched a three from distance and missed. The ball found Anunoby. He tipped it home. One point. 1.2 seconds left on the clock.
The Spurs had one last possession. They could not convert.

The Knicks lead 3-1. Their last championship was in 1973, 53 years ago. One more win in this series ends that gap.

The 29-point comeback is the largest in NBA Finals history. The previous record was a 24-point deficit overcome by the 2008 Celtics. New York beat that benchmark by five points, in the fourth game of a Finals, with a championship on the line.
