The Spurs won Game 6 118-91. Wembanyama posted 28 points and 10 rebounds. Stephon Castle ran the offence with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Dylan Harper added 18 from the bench. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City’s best player, managed 15 points on 6-of-18 shooting.

How We Got Here
The Thunder finished the regular season 64-18 as the Western Conference’s top seed. San Antonio went 62-20, second in the conference. The two best teams in the West produced the most competitive series of the postseason. Five close games set up what the Spurs did in Game 6.
A 32-13 third quarter was the decisive passage. Oklahoma City fell apart in that quarter, and San Antonio outscored them by 27 across the full 48 minutes. This was not a game that required late heroics. The Spurs controlled it from the first period and never allowed the Thunder to believe they could fight back.
The Numbers from Game 6
Wembanyama’s 28 points and 10 rebounds was his best performance of the series at the most important moment. Castle’s 9 assists showed how the Spurs’ ball movement created looks across the roster. Harper’s 18 from the bench added depth. Alex Caruso, who has averaged 17 points at 58.1% from three across this series, provided consistent shooting off the bench.
For Oklahoma City, SGA’s 6-of-18 shooting is the central conversation heading into Saturday. He is too good to repeat that performance two nights running, and San Antonio’s coaching staff know it. Their defensive attention to him in Game 6 was exceptional. Whether they can replicate that level in a Game 7 environment is the key tactical question.
What Game 7 Means
The winner faces the New York Knicks in the 2026 NBA Finals. For Oklahoma City, a finals berth for SGA’s generation of Thunder validates the rebuild and puts the franchise back at the summit of the sport. For San Antonio, reaching the Finals with Wembanyama in his second professional season would represent one of the fastest franchise rebuilds in NBA history.

Oklahoma City have the home court. SGA will be sharper on Saturday. But San Antonio carry the momentum of a 27-point victory and appear to have found their highest level at exactly the right time.
