OKC are the defending NBA champions and the best regular-season team in the league this year, at 64-18. Victor Wembanyama had 33 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists in the Spurs’ Game 4 win. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander remains OKC’s offensive engine.
Whoever comes out of the West, the Finals will be a serious test. The Knicks are not pretenders. But they will face a calibre of opposition that is a step above what they met in the East.
For now, that is a problem for later.

The last time the Knicks reached the Finals, Patrick Ewing was the franchise cornerstone and they lost to the San Antonio Spurs in five games. That was 1999. Everything since, the coaching changes, the rebuilds, the years without a playoff series win, the wait — ends with Sunday night.
Brunson is the player this moment has been built around. Towns adds the frontcourt presence the previous versions of this team never had. Together, they swept a 50-win Cavaliers team without ever being in genuine danger.
For New York fans, 130-93 is not just a scoreline. It is 27 years finally answered.
