New York beat the Cavaliers 121-108 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Saturday to take a 3-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. They are one win from the NBA Finals, and nothing about this series suggests it will take more than Game 4.
Three scorers, one problem
Jalen Brunson had 30 points. Mikal Bridges added 22 on 11-for-15 shooting, with 3 steals and 2 blocks alongside the scoring. OG Anunoby contributed 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Cleveland had no answer for all three simultaneously. Contain one, the other two take over.
That is the problem with this Knicks team in the 2026 playoffs. Brunson is their primary threat but he does not need to be the primary scorer for New York to win. Bridges and Anunoby have both delivered across this postseason, and their efficiency makes doubling Brunson a losing calculation.
The 10-game run
The Knicks have now won 10 consecutive postseason games, making them the 10th team in NBA history to achieve that in a single playoff run. It is a measure of consistency rather than luck: this is not a team catching variance. They are executing at a level that suggests they have identified exactly how to play each opponent they have faced.
What this means for Cleveland
No NBA team has ever come back from 3-0 down in a best-of-seven series. The Cavaliers would need to win four in a row, with two at Madison Square Garden, to reach the Finals. The statistical and historical reality of a 0-3 deficit is severe. This series, for practical purposes, is over.
Cleveland’s summer will be about how they respond. A team that finished 4th in the Eastern Conference and reached the ECF is not a team without quality. But the gap between them and New York in this series has been significant, and that requires honest assessment.
