Match Line
Sheff Utd 0 Goals @ 1.81
Crystal Palace 0 Goals @ 2.12
Goal Line
Over 2 Goals @ 1.81
Under 2 Goals @ 2.11
Sunday afternoon sees newly promoted Sheffield United taking on Crystal Palace at Bramall lane.
Sheffield United will have been more than happy to get a point on the board thanks to a late equaliser in their opening fixture away at Bournemouth.
In these situations it is very hard to know how Sheffield United will acclimatise to life in the Premier League, so it is probably best to see how teams in similar situations fared.
When promoted sides have hosted mid table sides in their first 6 home games of the season. Over the last 5 seasons there have been 33 matches. The record for these promoted sides reads Won 11, Drawn 8 & Lost 14.
Crystal Palace come into this game on the back of an opening 0-0 draw at home to Everton. This was a match where Palace certainly had the better chances although Everton dominated possession despite going down to 10 men in the second half.
Crystal Palaces away record to newly promoted sides reads a positive W5, D3, L2 and indeed they have won their last 4 of these matches.
Indeed if we look back further over the last 5 seasons Palace have only lost 2 of 15 matches, winning 9 and drawing 4.
Goals Market
When looking at the goal market the line is set at a very low 2. When looking how promoted sides have done against mid table sides in the early part of the season. Only 12 of the 33 matches have seen 3 or more goals with 13 seeing 1 or less goals scored.
Looking at Palaces away record to promoted sides 4 of their last 10 have seen 3 or more scored with only 3 seeing 1 or less goals scored.
My ratings are suggesting the line should be closer to 2.5 goals and over 2 goals would certainly be my play here.
Summary
For my selection I am turning to the match line whereas we have seen historically Crystal Palace do well in these situations.
I am going to assume that Sheffield United will finish in the bottom 6 this season and when looking at Palaces away record to teams that finish in the bottom 6. There 5 season record reads W12, D11, L6 and indeed in this situation they have only lost once in their last 14 away matches.
This is bound to be a close affair I am keeping the draw on my side and going with Crystal Palace off scratch 0 goals
Crystal Palace 0 Goals @ 2.12
