ATP
Anderson is a dangerous floater who is coming back from injury, he holds a 6-2 H2H over Thiem who he is due to meet in round 3, if he wins that 150 will collapse into 50 or lower.
Kyrgios – Is the darling of Australia atm, he organised a huge fund raising amongst all the tennis players for the bushfires. He can ride the wave of goodwill a long way here if he stays focused, we know hes a big match player who loves to perform infront of a huge crowd, he will get that here and everything lines up for him to have a deep run.
Federer – Is a huge price for what will be his last roll of the dice so we cant discount the Swiss Maestro giving it one last effort,
Tsitsipas – Looks set to lock horns with Djokovic in the quarters, he will hold no fears for the Greek as he beat him in Shanghai last season and from what I can gather Nole is carrying a shoulder/elbow injury. If Tstsi takes out Nole then we will see him into single figures for the title.
WTA
Osaka – Looks set for an epic quarter final against Serena and in my opinion the winner of this will make the final.
Anisimova – Is sneaking under the radar here, she has a very good draw upto round 4 where she will meet Muguruza who is carrying a possible viral illness, then she will meet either Vondrousova or Pliskova and in my opinion they will beat the hell out of each other in round 3, so Amanda can take care of a battle weary opponent. Then its Halep/Sabalenka or Bencic in the semi’s. All very winnable matches.
Gasparyan – A 1000/1 poke, she is a big game player who can go toe to toe with the best, she has been unfortunate with injuries but if shes fit and well here then the draw could fall apart for her with Keys in her section who likes to beat herself more often than not and Kvitova who being an asthma sufferer possiblt wont be able to breathe if the air quality continues to be very poor,
