Here we are looking at how the Sports Betting, Matched Betting, Arbitrage & Sports Trading eco system is all interlinked. Here we will be looking at how matched betting sites along with boosted bets from the bookmakers interlink with betting exchanges, arbitrage opportunities and value bettors.
This morning on Sky Bet and Betfair Sportsbook there was a boosted bet on the Champions League match between Manchester City & Real Madrid and the bet was Vinicius JR to have one or more shots on target and this was priced at 1/1 or 2.00 in decimal on Sky Bet /Betfair Sportsbook.

Now the first question that we need to answer on the Value betting side of things is does this offer value? So the next thing to do is go along to Oddschecker and take a look at what price Vinicius JR is to have a shot on target.

As we can see the best price for Vinicius JR to have a shot on target was 4/6 or 1.67 So as we can see the 2.00 offered by Sky Bet/Betfair Sportsbook offers value.
Now the problem for the value bettor is that they can only get £10 on with Sky Bet/Betfair Sportsbook and if they carry on placing money on just the boosted bets with firms like Sky Bet their account will eventually be restricted or they may be banned from placing a bet with this particular bookmaker. This market then is of no interest to the Value Bettor.
Matched Betting sites send their subscribers to the boosted bets
However this market is of great interest to the arber as the Matched Betting sites will be sending their subscribers to bet on the boosted price.
However they will then need these subscribers to lay their money off at the exchanges. It should also be remembered that there could be quite a few £10 being backed on this selection and indeed if a matched betting site sends 500 people to Sky Bet then £5000 is being backed on Vinicius to have a shot or more on target.
This is then where the exchanges come in particularly sites like Betdaq who offer Enhanced Specials
Here is the Vinicius market taken from Betdaq at 14:30

As we can see £715 is available to Lay at 1.81 and this will almost certainly be value bettors who are putting up the money to back Vinicius at 1.81 rather than the 1.67 which is generally available. However here the value bettor will not be backing Vinicius for just £10.
The Arbers many of who will be inexperienced in this arena will be happy to lay their £10 off at 1.81 as they will either gain £1.90 should the bet come in or guarantee £1.05 whatever the result.
Traders will also possibly look to back Vinicius Jr at 1.80 as the probability is this price will come in nearer to the 1.67 offered by most bookmakers before kick off.
So we can see here without the Arbers there would be no Value bettors and without the Value bettors the Arbers could not exist and situations like the above allow the eco system to flourish.
